Turnout in the city’s April 5 election is now close to 25 percent.
The City Clerk’s Office reported today that it received 36,450 ballots as of yesterday.
That’s nearly a quarter of the estimated 151,000 ballots that were sent out to registered voters.
Ballots must be received, not just postmarked, by 7 p.m. Election Day to be counted.
Any idea how many voting-age Springs residents there are? I know 150,000 ballots were sent out, but that doesn’t include inactive voters or unregistered residents. Sounds like a question for Maria!
I don’t know the answer, but I bet the number is huge. I’ll try to find out.
