Daniel, are you and the Gazette so desparate for stories that you are going after officials for facebook comments now? big mistake, no wonder your readership is so low. Lisa C was liked before she got elected and now she is liked even more. She has support from County Commissioners, past and present council members, the Chamber and now other leaders in the community. Any and every neighborhood asssoc, meeting she goes to she leaves with more supporters then when she started. I think you are opening up a can of worms. I ve been following her posts for years and one badly worded post cant take away from her good spirit remarks and all the information she gives to us. I think you made a big mistake going after her and you are going to be the one to regret it. She is too much of a class act to be taken down by this.

We're looking to our elected officials for accountability. It happened to be through Facebook that we found out we need to look deeper in the case of Lisa C. It's the message at issue, not the medium.

Lisa C shows that she was not ready to be the anointed one to run for the city council. She was obviously the netter of two evils from the Grand Old Party. She and Facebook don’t seem to get along. She has a history of acting like a spoiled brat when someone doesn’t play nice to her on FaceBook. Remember during the election how she sent out nasty emails because Tom Mowel asked her not brother him with her requests for support. She wasn’t smart enough to even realize that Tom Mowel was a Dem. She needs to be sent to her room without the internet and grow up.

The flip side of that, stabbingcat, is that for the first time, our politicians are accountable directly to their constituents. Any of us are free to ask the questions we used to have to shout at the television or hope got published in a letter to the editor. Direct contact means a playing field that's closer to even.

As so many people said about the Patriot Act, if you're not doing anything wrong, you don't have anything to hide. There's something to be said for transparency.

Facebook is a "Devil's Playpen".
Politicians and public officials, of all people, should recognize the hazards.
It is unfortunate that so many (otherwise) intelligent and worthwhile people waste their time (blabbing off the top of their heads) on it.
It becomes a waste of time as soon as you post things that you regret or have to retract....how long does it take for that to happen?
