“How ’bout we make a pledge to hide what we’re doing from the public and show our disdain for the free press and the 1st amendment”?
“I have nothing to say I can’t say in public but I don’t want to say anything in public because I don’t think the public has any right to give it’s consent to the governing.”
I’ve never heard such BS and Orwellian doublespeak.
The Mayor is asking not to air ‘dirty laundry’? In other words, screw transparency and keep your mouth shut, city council!!!
Bach will be recalled before his term is finished. Just wait. The king will be dethroned.
Translation: only the Mayor speaks truth to the media.
This isn’t a new thing. The same issue was present in the council-manager form of government. I think most in the community want to hear varying viewpoints as they seek to be informed on the many issues confronting the well-being of Colorado Springs.
All elected and appointed public servants should be humble enough to acknowledge
their selection did not equal “all-knowing.” Listening and learning from one another and their constituents should lead to less acrimony and a better Colorado Springs.
