City Councilman Tim Leigh wants the University of Colorado Health system to take over financial responsibility of Boulder Park near Memorial Central.
UCH wouldn’t take over ownership of the park but pay for its irrigation and upkeep — saving taxpayers between $40,000 and $50,000 annually, according to Leigh.
“We’re trying to use commercial real estate negotiation savvy to slide something in (the proposed lease) at the last minute,” Leigh said during Wednesday’s Mayor’s Counsel meeting.

Mr. Leigh’s family should consider a neuropsych evaluation for his erratic behavior — also a complete physical to make sure a vitamin deficiency isn’t causing the problem. Cats attacking, renting out parks,a man who thinks a nurse’s salary is not enough to represent a conflict of interest in dealing with Memorial Hospital issues, when many people live on far less…. Not someone I would want to do business — or politics — with.
Ahhhh, start selling off the city parks.
Next the libraries, then the schools, then private cops, then subscription firefighters, then mercenary armies and then all this COMMIE-nism will be done with.
Finally Leigh will have rid America of the public doing for the public with the public’s money, land and resources… all this general welfare, the common good and “do for the least of me” COMMIE-nism.
Mr. Leigh, I have agreed with some of your opinions in the past, but now you are just getting too crazy. Seriously? You want the new building owners to take over caring for a freakin’ park that they don’t own. Are you being serious right now?
Just stop. Ok? Just stop. Please work on being normal. I get that you really, really, really, really wanted HealthOne to come in and that way you’d get something out of it. And I get that you sorta had to cave in and back the UCH deal since everyone else did and you were being singled out as being crazy.
You should just stop while you are ahead. Be done with the hospital deal. It’s going through and to ask them to take care of a city park makes you look petty and desperate.
And now you have finally weirded me out. I no longer am going to tell anyone that I support what you say now. You are just going to far with things.
You have done and said enough strange things lately that you WILL NOT be re-elected. Which is kind of too bad, because you had some potential for a bit.
When he said a cone head could subsitute for his presence on city council ……should have been number one clue among other behaviors and statements.
