City Councilman Tim Leigh voted in favor of moving forward with plans to install scrubber technology at the Martin Drake Power Plant downtown.
Last week, Leigh flip-flopped, saying he received new information after the July 18 meeting.
Not everyone believes Leigh’s explanation.
He reversed course after Mayor Steve Bach said he hoped the council would reverse its decision.
Leigh, as well as Councilwoman Angela Dougan, are the mayor’s strongest allies on council.
Here’s what Leigh had to say about it all:
“You can say Leigh is a flip-flopper because that’s what people are saying all over the community today. You know how I roll. Put it right out there. Everybody thinks I’m a flip-flopper, and they think I’m Steve Bach’s stooge. Isn’t that what’s going on?”
I would not say your his stooge your more like his Bit&^
1. Original Tim Leigh vote on Neumann at Drake: For it
2. Bach pitches downtown development, Leigh flips, and is now against it and compares Neumann to a con man.
3. Leigh visits Neumann with experts planning to put Neumann in his place… leaves meeting convinced the device is great. Switches comparison of Neumann from con man to “brilliant scientist” (inventor of flubber)… couple days later votes AGAIN for Neumann’s system to be installed at Drake.
4. Hear’s Mayor’s plea on talk radio program, now questions council’s choice to move forward on Drake, wants a re-vote.
this the best we can do on council?
Rick you sure know alot about being someones beotch. Off your knees.
Didn’t Back start out with 9 alleyes, now he’s only down to 2? Maybe the Mayor needs to work on playin nice with others.
STU: That the best you have? Why not another stupid murder comment?
There sure are a lot of mean people in this world…..
Tim Leigh did the same thing with the Memorial governance stuff. He was a big fan of HealthOne and preferred them to UCH. Then Mayor Bach throws his support behind UCH. Suddenly Leigh is all for UCH.
The guy is so transparent. He’s like that one office person (that is in every office) that just has to be the kiss-up. It’s a shame too, because Leigh was showing some promise.
It really seems to me that Leigh makes every decision based on what favors he can get out of the people in charge.
Mr. Leigh, you lost your manhood. I laugh at you now. And so does everyone in my office.
Ratepayer: We get the government we pay for.
What were you expecting for $6,250 per year and all the Ding Dongs, Granola Bars and Trail Mix you can eat at weekly City Council meetings? Winston Churchill? Spiro Agnew?
The time is now to consolidate City and County Councils, pay our elected representatives a full-time wage (and rightly expect them to work for us full-time) and pay for it by consolidating City and County government services.
he who must vote for whomever has an R by their name without any further investigation deserves this mess we have. get a clue people, this town is racing toward third world status. we can’t continue to be teabaggertown and have a town worth living in.
If anyone is on thier knees is Tim Leigh. Grow a spine Timmy. For once stick to your beliefs and morals or is that asking too much from you and everyone on council.
Say what morals whats that.
