While watching CNN’s live coverage of Hurricane Sandy last night, for a split second, it looked like Cindy Aubrey was in front of the camera.
But it was actually television journalist Ashleigh Banfield, who bears a striking resemblance to Aubrey, who is Mayor Steve Bach’s chief communications officer.
Not only do the two women look alike and have similar hairdos, both wear signature dark-framed glasses.
They also have journalism in their blood.
Banfield has worked in TV for years, and Aubrey used to be the news director for a local TV station.
Daniel, please go to a doctor. Obviously have have had a brain injury. They don’t look alike. They do not have a “similar” hair do at all.
Um, but yeah, they both do wear glasses.
Who’s your supervisor? Because it looks like you don’t have enough to do if this is the kind of story you are writing.
There’s plenty of stuff out there to write about. Two people that look completely different, are different ages, but wear the same glasses doesn’t seem to be the kind of angle you should be specializing in.
Seriously? And this is newsworthy how?
Yes, exactly alike….
Except that Banfield is actually attractive…..
Lighten up, critics. The media’s role is to inform, persuade and entertain. This falls squarely in the “entertain” category.
Daniel is working up a “separated at birth” that highlights the amazing similarities of Wayne Laugesen and Brad Pitt. Please post this soon, Daniel.
Ms Banfield is so beautiful and graceful, while Ms Aubery is mousey looking and it looks as though her smile is forced not natural like Ms. Banfield.
But back to the article, no they do not look alike but Ms Aubery should take note on how some color would do her some good. The black makes her look older then she is and does nothing to make her skin look vibrant.
Why does everyone in city goverment look so conspitated all the time. ??

Not even close, Daniel, not even close.
For one thing, Ashleigh loves to talk, while Cindy is seldom available to comment on important stories in CS when asked by the media.
Lilithia, Bruce,
How rude. Do you people have nothing better to do than to give un-solicited insults? Maybe you should post your pictures up so we can tell you how terrible you look.
DML, I know I am intelligent, bright witty and FYIF I have been told all my life I look like Liz Taylor so trust and believe I have no worries.
I did no insult no one. A comparison was made and I disagreed with it.
I too would look like a scared mouse if I worked under the stress and strain of king rat himself Bach. Worried everyday if I say one thing to the right or left I will be called down or better yet fired.
So take it how you like , I care not
Lilithia
Wayne, I’m all for entertainment. My point is that these two people don’t look at all. Separated-at-birth stories are usually about people who look alike. These two women don’t look alike. At all.
And for the record, the media’s role is not to “persuade.” Inform and entertain, yes. Persuade? Um, no. That’s just what you try to do. And you actually try to persuade people to just what YOU want.
Wayne, I mean this in all seriousness, you’ve lost your way as a journalist. What are you even doing now? You used to be so much better.
And Ashley Banfield is a Canadian. Is Cindy Aubrey also from the Great White North?
Wayne got it wrong. The one Daniel is working on will compare Wayne’s left leg to Brad Pitt.
Separated at birth like in the movie Twins.
Ms. Jameson,
Wayne Laugensen lost more respect and credibility when he went to the “private” meeting called by local developer Steve Schuk to talk about selling our utility company. He is just a tool being used by the Mayor and the old regime. Daniel, when you were robbed and your car broken in to, what did you think about your public safety? How is it knowing Mayor Steve Bach can use a cop for a bodyguard and to keep people out of a public library to have a meeting? While citizens are victimized they have to wait all day for a response or file a report online? How do police feel trailing Bach around to photo op meetings when their fellow officers are short staffed and putting their lives on the line? It is downright shameful how Gazette supports such a blatant abuse of power. Corruption right here in Colorado Springs.
Mr. Kingston, you have made an excellent point. Wayne did lose all respect and credibility. He is no longer a journalist. He is a scared, little man that knows he will be losing his job soon, so he has been kissing up to anyone and everyone in order to network and hopefully find a job after he gets fired from this one.
He’s a disgrace to journalism and all the other hardworking journalists out there.
My question is why does Bach need a bodyguard, The Library holds many meeting thoughout the year, why should Bachs meeting be treated differently.
The city of ColoradoSprings must have a surplus of money if King Rat can afford a bodygaurd.
Bach must be doing a lot of misdealings if he feels he needs a bodyguard.
I am sure the PPTRA sure could use that money but no they want the citizens to cough up the money for the road work.
As long as city goverment contiune to squander money on themselves or what will benitft thier cronnies I will not vote on any tax increases as long as the leaders of my community continue use our funds for thier own bank account.
Lilithia, the PPRTA is not a new tax, only the extension of what is already in place.
I do agree that a police escort for Bach is silly. Rivera didn’t have one, and lots of folks hated him. I wonder what Bach thinks he has to fear??
