this guy is a total whack job! lots of accusations and doesn’t “know” anything. then he spouts off some nutso conspiracy theory about CSU… we have enough crazies around here, we don’t need one on the council. vote this fool out!!!
While I don’t agree with much of anything Tim Leigh says, I too remain skeptical of Neumann’s unproven technology and I have wondered since moving here why our city-owned utility monopoly has had to spend money to remind us they’re “how were all connected”.
Just a reminder that our system of government does make sense, from time to time…..
It has been 3 months. Is that not enough time for Tim to have done his homework and “investigated the Neumann spend”?
Tim Leigh needs to get his facts straight before he writes his totally ridiculous and misguided and uninformed articles in the Gazette. Chacon is as one sided and biased as I have ever seen. Both of these guys print information based on lies and try to influence our local community with terrible information. Their information borders on corruption and needs to be stopped.
The group Tim and Chacon talk about are not funded by any tax payers. It is a group established to inform the public about the truth in a very open and honest format. I would invite anyone to do the research, and find the truth. Do not take what these two say or write about as gospel. Why does the Gazette continue to print Tim Leighs newsletters? Why don’t you give both side equal opportunity to voice its opinion. I could not be more disgusted.
This group was not formed to defeat the mayor. People have major concerns with Bach’s determination to sell off or shutter Drake and the other electric generation facilities. Mayor Bach has strong ties to the developers such as Jenkins and Schuck. Why can Schuck have a private meeting with Bach and other community members but employees are not allowed to educate themselves on the issues that are facing Colorado Springs Utilities? It is very apparent that Bach and his developer buddies have banded together to destroy CSU for their own personal gains. Bach has ties to the Koch brothers and I would not be surprised if Schuck and Jenkiins also have ties to these destructive, corrupt, and ruthless people. There was a you tube video that was filmed shortly after Bach was elected and he stated he was not going to go after city enterprises as revenue sources. Apparently he lied because that is exactly what he is doing. Bach can not honestly believe that he can create 6000 jobs and potentially sale off electirc generation which would most likely cause significant rate increases. How is this going to attract new businesses and jobs to our area? He does not want to raise taxes, he just wants to destroy our city with his selfish and sneaky pursuits. The residents of Colorado Springs also need to get informed about the long term impacts of Bach’s actions. If this continues, maybe a recall is in order.
A question to ask those that believe CSU has a hidden agenda in it’s fight for both the Newman Systems and the Drake Plant. What’s in it for them? If the Newman scrubbers are not what they ae billed to be, the immedate effect would be missing a critical deadline in 2017 and the closure of both the Nixon and Drake plants for failure to meet EPA regulations. That’s it. Replacement power would have to be built or purchased which is what the Mayor seems to want to do right now at the cost to the rate payers. Could it be that there is one exception to the normal, that maybe one government or in this case city owned buisness is actually doing the very best it can for it’s citizen owners? Based on track record (rates & customer service) of this company, it’s possible. Could this entire conversation have been started just so we can have a ballpark in our downtown like Denver does? What better way to divert attention of the real goal of claiming a piece of land then to throw question after question at an organization and then attempt to limit ability of that organization to publicly defend it’s decisions to their rate payers? There may indeed be a hidden agenda someplace but it seems to be hiding nearer to the folks that would benefit from cheap land than those that provide utilities to our homes.
This is idiotic and full of incorrect accusations. Lees paranoia and desperation seem to be increasing. He seems to be as clueless as our Mayor is on utility matters. Neustream technology was tested for 3 years, it works. Partnership in bringing them in is to make Drake as clean as it can be and meet new EPA regulations for 2017. If its sold and CSU get a share of profits, bonus. CSU is one of the best in the business and are under attack. Bach and Lee need to back off because they are upsetting the public and creating undeserved bad press. Vote em both out please. Ooray!
The testing with the Neustream Systems appear to have started in 2008, and they have passed each and every task presented to them. What is Mr Leigh looking for?
I do however agree with a little more transparency in the budget, but simple research shows that the budget is pretty clear, just not line for line like he wants. But to reciprocate, I want the Colorado Springs City Council to submit their next budget with line-by-line itemization for each item and it’s spend, delineating specifically the expected (and actual) rate-of-return for each. How much return has the City gotten from the skate park in Memorial Park? Or using that mind set, any of the public facilities that are budgeted.
Mr. Leigh, you have had a few months to review the records of the Neustream spend, you sat on your tail and complained, then skipped out on the vote. You grandstanded all month about voting against it with Mrs Dougan, and neither of you could be present to back it up. But there are more votes on the budget coming, and you guys will just wait until the final one to throw a wrench into the works and claim that nobody would work with you. Quit looking to make personal money on the downtown redevelopment, and start representing the people you were elected to represent.
There does not need to be a CSU hidden agenda group to get rid of Leigh — he is doing just fine on his own!
Take off your foil hat now Tim and come back to reality from the planet Xenophobe.
Nice way to avoid the vote. I suppose the next time when you are required to vote you and Doogan will say you have not read the documents again. Oh, maybe you can’t read?
Tim Leigh is ou tof hsi mind, BUT he’s right to be skeptical of Neumann’s unproven technology.
Again, if Neumann’s stuff is so awesome, then how come everybody isn’t using it? And he’s already cried about how the city is treating him and threatened to move somewhere else.
Ok, so let him move. With his super-awesome-magic technology, he shouldn’t have any problems relocating and selling his stuff. Right?! Right!?
Now all of his friends will come on here and attack all the people that question this tech…
I think lee and Dougan are dumber than a bag of rocks. Those 3 keep screwing up the only good thing this city has going for it, a top notch utility company. I heard from City workers that the Mayor likes these two because they’ll do what he says but even he knows they are loose cannons, idiots, and so a liability. Then again I hear Bach may be getting senile so maybe he forgets the stupid stuff those two say. It happens to us old guys.
Leigh doesn’t want the Utility to spend ratepayer money to defend itself against Leigh’s (and others) loose cannon statements, lack of understanding, and conspiracy theory type logic…. Give them a break Tim, just stop it!!! Then they won’t have to spend that money defending themselves if you cut back on that bad behavior. There’s a big difference between silencing and defending against unreasonable people. I think they are probably defending and educating and not necessarily silencing. Unfortunately, it appears that some can’t be educated. The next election can’t get here fast enough!!!
