The 10th amendment states that all other issues not covered by this Constitution are to be determined by the States or The People. MJ is not addressed in the Constitution and the Feds should have nothing to do with MJ. Alcohol is addresed in the Constitution by ammendment.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility? When an individual casts their vote, it is their responsibility to read and understand the issue. Name any Colorado school district with increasing enrollment. That would be the only one that can justify spending capital construction money that 64 promises. Wait ’til D-11 builds a Taj Mahal without pupils to fill it – currently they need to close Wasson and 4-5 neighborhood schools. Like TOPS funds, it’s illegal to siphon encumbered money for construction/facility acquisition for any other purpose, say books, computers or sports.

A little foresight would have promoted better use for 64 taxes. No one suggested dedicating it to law enforcement’s enforcement and prosecution of hard narcotics traffic (or – be honest – is legalizing MJ the first step to legalizing everything at the ballot box?)

Commissioner Lathen, just recently you made the following claim in a Gazette opinion piece:
“. . . government expansion and control are slowly (and now very quickly) killing that liberty. Do not be fooled. Liberty is gasping.” (http://www.gazette.com/opinion/times-147473-column-lie.html)

Why is it that you only support “human liberty” when it doesn’t interfere with your personal beliefs? If liberty is gasping then perhaps you should reflect on how the new ordinance you voted for contributes to it. I’m sure many of us who understand the merits of Amendment 64 and the failures of Prohibition would appreciate an explanation (complete with legitimate sources) as to why you are so adamantly against a plant with many known benefits and yet so willing to invite oil & gas companies with unimpressive environmental records into our county.

Never dreamed I’d live in a “dry” county. In dry counties they just go to the next county to get what they want, so the taxes go there instead of here, Smart thinking, That will definitely teach the morally corrupt pot smokers, LOL! Why did she sound outraged by this? It should be the best outcome for her she doesn’t want Pot in the county. It’s kind of a joke to think we’re “represented” by these people on the commission. The don’t seem to represent me or anyone I know..or listen to constituents votes.

When FoF came here in the early 90s Dobson held meetings with prominent groups, like the EPC Medical Ass’n. Dobson,and his holier than thou gang, promised the audience that they would only be tauting national issues, and not concerned with local issues. LIARS!
They soon set about doing just that. Lathen is a shill, an operative, of FoF, not us. By voting in 64, we agreed to the tax, and even the maximum amount, and now this woman, and her claque, are trying to take the calve from the cow, by deception.

Our freedom, according to her and her religionist crowd, is the right to examine the manacles they decide to put on us. Out with this basement trash I say.
