“To refer to Ethics Watch as a legal-based watchdog group is total bunk. I mean, it’s very clear that they’re a liberal group that only attacks Republicans, and if you look at the data, that’s all they attack.”
– Rich Coolidge, communications director for Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, who was listed in Colorado Ethics Watch’s Top 5 ethical scandals of 2012.
Here’s what Ethics Watch wrote about Gessler:
“Scott Gessler’s Personal Piggy Bank: Controversial Secretary of State Scott Gessler made a name for himself while attempting to reshape Colorado election and campaign finance laws in this election year. He earned fame of a different kind when a review of public records revealed evidence of misuse of public funds by Secretary Gessler, including the use of state funds to cover travel expenses for partisan events, which implicates several laws against public corruption.”
Is there something about what Ethics Watch wrote about Gessler that is not true? Or is it that you just don’t like the truth being prominently displayed? Poor Republicans…always being picked on by those pesky liberal groups…boo hoo.
Is there something about what Mr. Coolidge said about Ethics Watch that is not true? Or is it that you just don’t like the truth being prominently displayed. Poor Democrat party hacks…..always being picked on by those pesky truths…..boo hoo.
Wow Don…real original…NOT! When you have no defense, simply say the same thing with the Republican slant on it — just like Fox News! Cool-Aidge said nothing to dispute the charges by Ethics Watch.
Obviously, you’re intellectually incapable of understanding the concept of mocking another. This is unfortunately typical of the bumpersticker minds that populate the democrat party these days. But Merry Christmas, anyway……enjoy a corrupt party, the leader of which is enjoying his Christmas in Hawaii at $4 million of the taxpayer expense.
Colorado Ethics Watch is one of a number of megaphones created in 2003 for grassroots motivation and outrage by progressives. CEW uses high-impact legal actions to hold political officials “accountable” for “unethical activities” through lawsuits and press releases. Funding comes from CoDA or Colorado Democracky Alliance to make certain they have financial resources and access to information.
Democracy Alliance donors include George Soros, AFL-CIO, SEIU, Rutt Bridges, Tim Gill and Pat Stryker.
After a massive search of records, Gessler’s lawyers were unable to find any instances whatsoever of Colorado legislators or office holders attending either Democratic or Republican national lawyers’ meetings using state funds, which means he will have a lot more problem with that charge than with missing receipts for reimbursements.
