Activist Kanda Calef shot down City Councilman Tim Leigh on Monday when Leigh insinuated that she’s part of the coal lobby.
Calef, who started Colorado Springs Citizens for Affordable Energy, which advocates keeping Colorado Springs Utilities under local ownership, vehemently denied that the coal industry is pulling her strings.
“Verify your facts before you make statements,” Calef told Leigh.
“I’m a stay-at-home mother who home schools my son. I’m a very busy person who is a citizen of this city, and I don’t want it to be intimidating to people like me to come and speak in front of people like you because you make false accusations,” she said.

This woman is part of the strip Bach of any power lobby. I do not care for Bach but I do believe the Mayor should be in charge of Utilities.

I sure don’t get these self-important elected officials. Seems they all forgot who they work for. They all act if their jobs are permanent. I got news for them….they aren’t. Fire Leigh. Fire Bach. Fire Morse. They are all worthless. Sad to say that two of them are republicans as am I. I am disgusted with them and ashamed that the party supported them.

Bach doesn’t have 1% of the knowlegde it would take to lead or “run” the Utility. To be in charge, you either need to understand it like an expert and/or listen to and trust the folks below you. He has none of these attributes.
Leigh just keeps using the same old tactics… he doesn’t think he needs any facts. He just keeps making obsurd statements.

Typical idiot politicians that always have to ruin a good thing. Utilities has been its own entity even though its owned by the city residents. Some one waaaayyyy smarter than Bach and any of these partimers that have never even used a real tool in their life. Go get them Calef!! Politicians are like car salesmen after they do the people wrong they just disappear back into the woodwork where they came from.
